Kia ora and welcome to Whenua Roots.
Whenua Roots started with our own dogs — Mia, Gotti, Awhi & Nuku — and a simple goal to create better, more natural food using real ingredients we genuinely felt good about feeding every day.
Based in the Far North of Aotearoa NZ, our products are handcrafted in small batches from our rural homestead surrounded by animals, gardens, and everyday farm life.
What started as feeding our own pack has slowly grown into a small rural brand built around natural feeding, functional nutrition, and genuine care for animals.
Built From Experience
Before Whenua Roots, I spent more than 20+ years working in the food industry.
That experience shaped the way I look at ingredients, preparation, quality, and the importance of knowing exactly what goes into food — including the food we feed our dogs.
Whenua Roots was created from a combination of:

Inspired by motherhood, nourishment, and recovery. Awhi inspired our blend designed to support pregnancy, post-pregnancy recovery, and growing dogs.

Simple, steady, and easygoing. Nuku inspired our gut health and digestion support blend.

Because we use natural ingredients, every batch may vary slightly — and we think that’s part of what makes it real.
Rural & Made Fresh Weekly
Because we live rurally in the Far North, all orders are prepared and shipped in weekly small batches.

⏰ Order Cut-Off → Monday 10pm
This allows us to keep production small, hands-on, and fresh rather than mass produced.
